About us

The National Digital Archives are one of three central archives of the state archive network in Poland. They were established in 2008 as a result of the transformation of the Archives of Audiovisual Records into an institution being a response to the advancement of the technology of recording and providing access to data.

Our operations have two aspects: digitalization and electronic documentation as well as storage of and providing access to photographic and audiovisual documentation.

  • We digitalize materials from the state archives across Poland.
  • We build IT systems and infrastructure aimed to collect and provide access to the information on the collections of all state archives and other institutions storing archive materials.
  • We teach how to digitalize, we set up standards and share our experience.
  • We collect, store, maintain and process photographs, films and sound recordings.
  • We make available and promote archive records in the network.
