There are a great many more places featured in his photographs, and these are not very dis- tant, except for a few, maybe a dozen or so documented trips or visits to well-known Polish cities for special occasions connected with military ceremonies. The military officers delegated smile at us from Kraków’s Market Square and Wawel Castle ( - ), pose next to the main stands at Poznań’s General National Exhibition ( - ), at the train station in Gdynia ( ), or
beneath the statue of Copernicus in Toruń ( ). In other pictures we see smaller towns, close to Warsaw
and Garwolin, areas where they held rallies, competitions, and manoeuvres and grazed their horses – around towns and villages Siedlce, Radom, Nowe Miasto, Maków, Grójec, Pobiedna, and the villages of Skurcze, Ryki, Brześnica, Kozienice, Brzóza, Górka Zgody, Wężowiec, Tomczyce, Przytyk, Kłonna Domaszno and Wola Paciorkowska.
Some places are photographed only once, others many times over a few or several dozen years in changing circum- stances, different times of the day and months of the year. The value of these photographs is enormous, because most of the places recorded on them have long ago undergone considerable change.
