Dożynki – tradycyjne święto ludowe – również zostały wprzęgnięte w służbę socjalistycznej propagandy. The harvest festival – a traditional peasant holiday – was also put to work for the socialist propaganda. In the photograph, the Starost of the harvest festival and his wife are giving a loaf of bread to the Hosts of the district harvest festival in Lidzbark Warmiński. The Central Harvest Festival had the most sumptuous setting. It was led by the First Secretary of the Polish United Workers’ Party assisted by top members of the government and of the party.
