1 Pułk Strzelców Konnych w Garwolinie
Pierwszy Pułk Strzelców Konnych rozpoczął działalność w czerwcu 1921 roku. Został uformowany ze szwadronów III dywizjonu 1 Pułku Strzelców Konnych, który wywodził się z 1 Grupy Szwoleżerów 4 Pułku Szwoleżerów armii gen. Józefa Hallera, dowodzonej przez majora Henryka Pawła de Baupuisa.
Do 1923 roku pułk stacjonował w Ostrowi Mazowieckiej, a następnie został przeniesiony do Garwolina, w którym stacjonował do wybuchu II wojny światowej. Pułk składał się z 1 szwadronu, w którym zgrupowani byli oficerowie i strzelcy pochodzący z 1 dywizjonu rotmistrza Gustawa Grzybowskiego, 2 i 3 szwadronu oraz innych pododdziałów pochodzących z rozformowanego szwadronu zapasowego 1 Grupy Szwoleżerów. Zmiany organizacyjne pułku zostały dokonane najpierw w 1924 roku, a kolejne w sierpniu 1939 roku. Od 1924 roku pułk stał się pułkiem jazdy samodzielnej i składał się, tak jak wszystkie inne pułki kawalerii, z drużyny dowódcy pułku, 4 szwadronów liniowych i szwadronu ckm, plutonu łączności oraz szwadronu zapasowego. The Regiment of Mounted Fusiliers in Garwolin
The 1st Regiment of Mounted Fusiliers began operations in June 1921. It was formed from detachments of the 3rd Division of the 1st Mounted Fusilier Regiment, which derived from Light Cavalry Group 1 of the 4th Cavalry Regiment of General Haller’s army, commanded by Major Henryk Paweł de Baupuis.
Until 1923 the regiment was stationed in Ostrów Mazowiecka and was then transferred to Garwolin, where it was stationed until the out- break of World War II. The regiment consisted of a 1st Detachment, in which were grouped officers and fusiliers derived from Captain Gustaw Grzybowski’s 1st Division, a 2nd and 3rd Detachment and other units derived from the decommissioned reserve detachment of the 1st Light Cavalry Group. Organizational changes to the regiment were made first in 1924 and again in August 1939. After 1924, the regiment became an independent cavalry regiment and, like all other cavalry regiments, was composed of a regimental commander’s team, 4 squadrons of the line and a squadron of heavy machine guns, a communications platoon and a reserve squadron.
