As part of his photographic work, Witaczyński discretely retouched negative materials on the emulsion side (	–	), cropped photographs (	–	) and precisely selected certain areas of the print or blocked out the background or unwanted elements that appear in the picture, for example the name plate affixed to a building against which background a group photo of soldiers had been taken (	). In several cases, visible on the emulsion side are captions to photos or small stickers with numbers (	–	).
The ensign did his own developing and prepared the prints for publication, competitions or framing, such as his equestrian self-portrait triptych displayed to this day in the family home. Many of these prints are to be found in various collections other than the family archives. They
