Józef Mularczyk (1893–1968) – podpułkownik WP, od 29 lipca do 10 sierpnia 1939 roku dowódca 1 Pułku Strzelców Konnych w Garwolinie. W czasie I wojny światowej walczył w 1 Pułku Piechoty, a następnie w 1 i 2 Pułku Ułanów Legionów. Od 1918 roku służył w Wojsku Polskim – kolejno w 2 Pułku Szwoleżerów, w Wojskowej Straży Granicznej oraz w 1 Pułku Strzelców Konnych. Ukończył m.in. kurs kawalerii
w Ostrołęce, II Kurs Doszkolenia Młodszych Oficerów Kawalerii w Centrum Wyszkolenia Kawalerii w Grudziądzu oraz X Kurs Oficerów Sztabowych. W 1938 roku pełnił funkcję Komendanta Szkoły Podchorążych Kawalerii. Od 1939 roku był dowódcą 1, a następnie 2 Pułku Strzelców Konnych i jako dowódca 2 psk w czasie kampanii wrześniowej walczył między innymi pod Mokrą i w słynnym „wypadzie na Kamieńsk”. W czasie niemieckiej okupacji należał do Armii Krajowej.
Józef Mularczyk (1893-1968), Lieutenant Colonel in the Polish Army; from July 29th to August 10th 1939 the commander of the 1st Regiment of Mounted Fusiliers in Garwolin. He also saw action during the First World War, in the 1st Infantry Regiment and later in the 1st and 2nd Cavalry Regiments of the Polish Legions. From 1918 he served in the Polish Army – in the 2nd Light Cavalry Regiment,
the Military Border Guard and then the 1st Regiment of Mounted Fusiliers in turn. He graduated from a cavalrymen’s course in Ostrołęka, the 2nd Additional Training Course for Junior Cavalry Officers at the Central Cavalry Riding School in Grudziądz, and the 10th Staff Officers Course. In 1938, he served as Commander of the Cavalry Cadet School. From 1939, he was commander of the 1st and
2nd Mounted Fusiliers Regiment, and as the latter’s commander during the September campaign, fought in Mokra among other places, and in the famous "raid on Kamieńsk". During the German occupation, he fought in the Home Army.
